First Data And VALID Systems Offer Industry-Leading Payroll Check Cashing Solutions To Grocery And Convenient Stores Nationwide

October 26, 2009

First Data and VALID Systems have announced a partnership to offer payroll check cashing solutions to the grocery and convenient store sectors. The partnership allows stores across the U.S. to process payroll checks quickly and easily, leading to increased sales and revenue. It also reduces the risk of accepting checks by offering identity theft indicators.

This solution also allows consumers to receive funds in cash or on a First Data Money Network card. The Money Network card is a prepaid card that can be used to make purchases online and at millions of merchant locations or withdraw cash at more than one million ATMs around the world. Existing Money Network cardholders can deposit funds from checks onto their cards. For the grocers and convenient store owners, it alleviates the need to have a large amount of cash on-hand and increases foot traffic to the store.

VALID's complete line of retail products, including the RTL200, VALID's flexible PC-based solution with cash drawer, ATM and card payout capabilities, helps grocers and convenient store owners expand the types of checks they can accept – payroll, tax and government. It also can operate either stand-alone or be fully integrated into existing systems, making it ideal for either a store just starting out, or a major chain looking to enhance its existing program.
